A Shawano nonprofit organization is making it possible for more 冈本视频 students from the greater Shawano area to reach their college and career goals.
Focused on advancing the needs of area residents and employers, the Elizabeth Street Business Complex recently contributed $10,000 to the 冈本视频 Educational Foundation to support Shawano area students through scholarships.
鈥淎ll of us at 冈本视频 thank the Elizabeth Street Business Complex for its generous donation, and we look forward to an invaluable partnership in the future,鈥 said Jeannie Otto, manager of 冈本视频 Shawano and 冈本视频 Oconto Falls.
Through the scholarships, more local 冈本视频 students will be able to persist and graduate, meaning more highly-skilled technicians and professionals for the greater Shawano area communities. The Elizabeth Street board of directors鈥 decision to support the 冈本视频 Foundation was unanimous.
鈥淭echnical education has an invaluable place in our economy locally and statewide, providing an educated workforce that our employers really need,鈥 said Robyn Shingler, Elizabeth Street board member and director of Community Education and Outreach for the Shawano School District.
As a former career services specialist for the Shawano County Job Center, Inc., Shingler knows firsthand about the transformative power of technical education. 鈥淚t is a game changer in people鈥檚 lives,鈥 she said.
Elizabeth Street鈥檚 gift to the Foundation specifies that scholarships be awarded to greater Shawano area students enrolled in 冈本视频鈥檚 trades and engineering technologies, agriculture, and health sciences programs.
